Magic Mirror

Magic Mirror

In this exhibit, learners are encouraged to compare their personal “body knowledge” to the ways in which a computer sense the world. Learners look into a mirror and see computational sensors and actuators that would perform similar functions to their organs projected onto their body. For instance, a visitor may see capacitive touch sensors where their hands would be, sound sensors on their ears, and a speaker on their mouth.

Competencies: sensors

Design Considerations: embodied interaction; low barrier to entry
